She earned her sex symbol status after starring in erotic thriller Basic Instinct back in 1992.

But Sharon Stone proved she is just as striking over twenty years later, as she made a glamorous arrival at the Celebrity Fight Night in Rome on Thursday.

The actress, 59, was effortlessly chic in a pleated monochrome gown as she joined a host of stars at the charity rooftop dinner, held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Cavalieri.

The actress looked stunning in her floor-length gown, split into two halves of shimmering cream and black silk.

Dipping into a mesh panel at the chest to sexily allude to her cleavage, the frock then cinched in at her waist with a black and gold belt, to accentuate her enviably slender waist.

Falling into elegant with long sleeves, the dress then billowed out into soft pleats all the way to the floor.

However reminiscing on her youth, the star went on to share a clip from her audition for the flick on Instagram, which led to her huge rise to fame at the age of 34.

The Oscar nominee performed a seductive and playful scene as murder suspect Catherine Tramell opposite Detective Nick Curran, played by Michael Douglas.

The unearthed footage was originally included in the special features of the 2001 ‘Ice Pick’ Collector’s Edition of the controversial erotic thriller, directed by Paul Verhoeven.

However Sharon admitted that she had not landed the role without a fight, and was not even the first actress offered the part.

‘[Catherine Tramell] was not an easy part to get,’ she revealed on Oprah’s Master Class in 2014.

‘They offered it to 12 or 13 other women who turned it down. So it wasn’t like I got there and everyone was like, "Yay, she’s here!" It was like, "Mmmm." But I knew walking on that set that I was enough.’

Sharon attended Celebrity Fight Night alongside John Corbett and his partner Bo Derek – with the event offering guests a five-day experience in Rome with Andrea Bocelli.

Since it was founded, Celebrity Fight Night has raised more than $127 million for the The Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, as well as several other charities.
